더 이문동  The Imun Dong 

2013

The works that have been made from 2013 to 2016 are live film works starting with thinking about The similarity between the scene of film and the landscape of the place. I've made three pieces of live film works, wondering what happens if eyes become the camera of a movie.

In the work The Imun-dong (2013), I wanted to show that the place we perceive can vary from viewpoint. In place of Seoul called Imun-dong, This work is a real-time live film performance using a camera, where one actor crosses inside and outside the public space, and the audience looks at different 'Imun-dong' according to the actor's position and camera movement. Repeated changes in the characteristics of the place and the camera's point of view are at the boundary between reality and cinematic situations.

2013년부터 2016년까지 해왔던 작품은 장소라는 것과 바라보는 대상, 시점과의 관계 들에 대하여 고민해오며 영화와 현실의 풍경의 관계에 대하여 생각한 필름의 작품들이다. 풍경과 영화의 신의 유사점을 보며 눈과 카메라의 의 형태로, 만약 눈이 영화의 카메라가 된다면 어떻게 될까 고민하면서 만들었던 작품들이다.

더 이문동 (2013)은 서울시 동대문구 이문동에서 창으로 바라본 풍경과 육교, 스크린을 교차시키며 한 작품으로, 우리가 아는 ‘장소’라는 것의 인식이 바라보는 시각에 대하여 다르게 인식되는 것을 카메라의 시점을 통해 표현한 작품이다.  장소라는 개념이 보는 시각에 따라 다르게 인식될 수 있다는 것을 ‘이문동’이라는 실제 장소에 대입하여 장을 구성하였다. 이 작품은 3가지의 장으로 구성되는데 행정 구역상에서 존재하는 이문동과, 겪어서 알 수 있는 이문동, 그리고 관객이 앉아있는 자리로서의 이문동의 경로로 진행된다.
